Meet the Founders of LALU
Elena Messarity
Experience & Expertise
Elena brings over 25 years of experience across the tourism, cosmetics, and fitness industries in Greece and abroad. For the past 15 years, she has held senior roles in sales, marketing, public relations, and communications.

Professional Background
In 2006, she joined the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, one of the world’s leading luxury hospitality brands. During her time there, she gained hands-on experience in high-level customer service and was trained in the group’s commercial operations. Mandarin Oriental became a milestone in her career, equipping her with the skills and mindset required for international professional excellence.
Driven by a passion for growth and creativity, Elena went on to explore new fields within sales, marketing, and PR. In 2010, she became Director of Public Relations and Communications at the Travel Plan Group in Greece. She later transitioned into the cosmetics industry, taking on the role of Head of PR & Communications at Fresh Line, a Greek natural cosmetics brand.
Her next chapter led her to the fitness industry, where she served as General Manager of Les Mills in Greece, the world’s leading group fitness company, while also representing TRX, a global leader in functional training.
LALU & Education
Her constant drive for evolution eventually brought her together with Maro, leading to the creation of LALU: a client-focused agency dedicated to helping businesses shine through extroverted communication. Elena holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management with a specialization in hospitality and tourism from the University of Strathclyde, UK.

Maro brings 23 years of experience across graphic design, hospitality, and fitness in Greece and abroad. Over the last 15 years, she has taken on senior and project management roles in visual communication.

Maro brings 23 years of experience across graphic design, hospitality, and fitness in Greece and abroad. Over the last 15 years, she has taken on senior and project management roles in visual communication.
Professional Background
She began her career in 2003 as a junior designer at CrazyShark in London, a role that soon led her to Disney. Within three years, she rose to middleweight designer, creating communication materials for Disney Stores across the UK, Italy, and Spain. After that, she spent four years as a senior designer at MDUK Media, working on editorial design, branding, typography, food packaging, and charity projects. Upon returning to Greece, Maro worked from 2013 to 2016 as Design Project Manager at Milk Branding Professionals, where she focused primarily on print and digital applications for Philip Morris International, one of the agency’s key accounts.
Since 2003, she has also collaborated regularly with Potamos Publications on book design, while contributing to The Greek Report magazine. In hospitality, she currently serves as Creative Director of Xenotel Group Hotels, overseeing design and social media presence for Novus City Hotel and Golden Coast Hotel.

LALU & Education
Another passion of hers is fitness, both through design and as a group fitness instructor with Les Mills, a connection that eventually brought her together with Elena. At just the right moment, both were eager to build something fresh, something of their own. That’s how LALU was born.
Maro holds a Master’s degree with Distinction in Communication Design from Central Saint Martins College (University of the Arts London)
How we became LALU
LALU means a lot, and to us, it means everything. The truth is, LALU was born in a rather unexpected way. Two professionals from completely different worlds crossed paths, trusted each other on the spot, and within minutes agreed they’d answer not only to Elena and Maro, but to their shared name: LALU(des).
Based in the heart of Athens, we work with brands that share our passion for authenticity, meaningful impact, and a deep connection with their audience.
