Designing for a Cause That Matters

Some projects test your creativity. Others test your purpose. Cyclades Care for Wildlife - powered by CPF (Cyclades Preservation Fund) was both.

When we were asked to design the identity for a new regional network - under CPF -uniting four leading environmental organisations in the Cyclades, we knew it would require more than visual skill· it would demand empathy, precision, and deep respect for the cause.

Wildlife preservation in the Cyclades is vital for maintaining the islands’ ecological balance. Yet with increasing incidents of wild animals in need of rescue and limited local resources, the creation of this network by CPF, the Cyclades Preservation Fund, became an urgent necessity. Designing its visual identity was not only an honour but also a true source of inspiration for our team· a project that reminded us why creativity can be a form of care.

A Shared Mission Across the Cyclades

At the heart of the network lies a clear mission: to collect reliable biodiversity data and provide coordinated rescue and rehabilitation support for injured or weakened animals. Its work spans four main wildlife categories and their organisations: sea turtles (Naxos Wildlife Protection Association), dolphins & whales (ARION - Cetacean Rescue and Rehabilitation Research Center), monk seals (MOm - Hellenic Society for the Study and Protection of Monk Seals) and wild birds (Alkioni - Aegean Wildlife Hospital) — each representing a vital thread in the Cycladic ecosystem.

For us, every design decision was informed by that mission. We sought to translate its collaborative spirit into visual form, creating a brand language that communicates unity, trust, and action· quietly but powerfully.

One Identity, Many Voices United

The brand identity we created for Cyclades Care for Wildlife is grounded in a simple but powerful idea: different voices coming together in harmony. Four species, four colours, one continuous line.

Each form maintains its individuality, yet all are seamlessly connected within a shared rhythm. The result is a symbol that mirrors the network itself: four organisations, four wildlife categories, one unified purpose. An identity that speaks volumes, even when quietly printed on a tote or carried by the Aegean breeze.



From Strategy to Design, With Purpose

Our creative direction followed a holistic, research-based approach. We built a visual system that could adapt effortlessly across print and digital touchpoints· from logotype and iconography to field materials and awareness campaigns. The goal was clarity and resonance: an identity that feels as natural on scientific documentation as it does on community materials, balancing credibility with warmth.

For our team, this project reaffirmed a belief we hold close: that design can give shape to empathy, and that thoughtful branding can help vital causes like Cyclades Care for Wildlife reach wider audiences and inspire lasting change.
